Morton-on-Swale PC approached WJPS late last year looking for an upgrade to their current website. They were looking for an accessible and compliment site to display the Parish Council documents, events, and information, that could also be used for their village hall, to display information about the groups and classes taking place at the hall.
They wanted a clean, user friendly, and quick to update website which could be used by all members of the council and village hall groups, to avoid all of the website work being done by one person.
The process started with us looking through their old site, starting to create a plan, and arranging a consultation meeting to go through what they wanted from their site. At the consultation, we also went through some of our existing parish council websites, and did a short tutorial on how our system works. With a clear plan made, we moved on to building their site.
This site set up involved transferring and organising parish documents, creating dedicated pages for groups taking place in their village hall, and creating galleries to show off the beauty of the parish.
Morton-on-Swale Parish Council also opted for us to create a new custom logo for them, to be displayed on their council documents, and on their website. After some deliberation, the council decided they wanted their logo to highlight Morton Bridge. We designed a logo, and created some colour options, of which Blue was chosen by the council.
Once we had completed the build, we invited them back in for another meeting focused on how their site works, and training them in it's use. We have also offered training to their councillors and other members of the parish who will be using the site, which can be taken up at any time.
Since we handed the site over and it went live, Morton-on-Swale's RFO, Roger Dale, has worked to add more and more to the site, and it is now a shining example of how great WCS can be.
"Working with WJPS on the development of our new website has been an absolute pleasure. James and his team have been exceptionally helpful and supportive throughout the project, and, from them releasing the development site to me on Wednesday, we were able to go “live” just five days later – a testament to the professionalism and commitment of WJPS. I am delighted to be able to commend them to other Parish Councils looking to revitalise their website." - Roger Dale, RFO of Morton-on-Swale Parish Council.
We have enjoyed this website build, and wish Morton-on-Swale Parish Council, and Village Hall, all the best.
